CEPA has T-Shirts! There are currently both short sleeve and long sleeve tees available for purchase. Each shirt features a special 50th anniversary logo that is inspired by an old design from the early 2000s.
After an extensive national search, the board of trustees for The Center for Exploratory & Perceptual Arts (CEPA Gallery) announces the hiring of its next Executive Director, Ben Hickey. A skilled administrator with an excellent curatorial pedigree, Hickey brings 19 years of experience to CEPA. Most recently, he served as Interim Director at the Hilliard Art Museum in Lafayette, Louisiana. During his seven years as Curator at the Hilliard, he also served as a member of the leadership team responsible for the museum’s inaugural American Alliance of Museums accreditation.

On Thursday, October 10th, from 6-7pm, we will be hosting an evening of artist talks from four of our members exhibiting work in this years members show curated by Sophie Barner. Join us in person or join the live stream to hear our members, Laura Chenault, Biljana Petreska, Cheryl Gorski and Brandon Oleksy talk about their works in the exhibition in addition to their practices as working artists and photographers.
One of CEPA’s largest partnerships to date has been with Fujifilm who have supported students through unique collaborative opportunities, fellowships, and sponsored programs. Hear from three of our students, who have all been recently brought on as staff; Hope, Curtis, and Max, about their experience working with CEPA and Fujifilm.

CEPA Gallery is pleased to announce our 2024 Big Orbit Members’ Show. This year’s show will be running from November 15, 2024 until January 2025 with an opening reception on Friday, November 15, 2024 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. All current, new, and renewing CEPA members are invited to submit one artwork for the exhibition which will be located in the Underground Gallery.
CEPA Gallery is honored to have played a major role in bringing Blues: a 5/14 Memorial to fruition. This public art project, catalyzed by a rare and prestigious special leadership grant that CEPA received from the NEA earlier this year, will continue through the Fall 2024. The project was designed by and granted to artist Brendan Bannon in conjunction with CEPA to honor those lost on May 14, 2022, at the Tops Supermarket on the East Side of Buffalo in a racist attack. Fourteen artists and community leaders were trained to deliver more than 90 trauma-informed workshops so far throughout Buffalo, reaching over 4,000 area residents of all ages.
