We're Hiring! CEPA Gallery, a renowned contemporary photography and visual arts center, is excited to announce that it is now accepting resumes for the position of Executive Director. This national search aims to find a visionary leader to guide the gallery into its next chapter of artistic innovation and community engagement.

Emergent showcases the work of CEPA’s Photography Works students and Fujifilm Foundation of Creation Fellows. Emergent is the culmination of nine months of fellowship and mentorship – participants from both programs having developed their own self-directed projects over the course of their time at CEPA. We are proud to support and exhibit the work of these dedicated, emerging young artists! Join CEPA on Friday July 12th, 2024, from 5-8 PM, to celebrate the opening of Emergent: Fellows and Photography Works Showcase.

In conjunction with CEPA Gallery’s current exhibition The Power of Resilience and Hope: Photography and the Holocaust: Then & Now, CEPA will install a temporary mural on Western New York Book Arts’  exterior wall on Mohawk st. The mural is inspired by project artist Mizin Shin’s #UseYourVoice series that is on display in CEPA’s passageway gallery. Shin’s project was a response to rising hate crimes as a way to speak out against racially motivated prejudice and violence.

The Center for Exploratory & Perceptual Arts (CEPA Gallery) is pleased to announce the opening of an exhibition in collaboration with photographic artist and doctoral researcher Alice Cazenave, FORAGE: A Sustainable Photography Exhibition. Please join us for the opening reception on June 7, 2024, from 5 - 8 PM in The Cass Gallery at 500 Seneca. 

The Center for Exploratory & Perceptual Arts (CEPA Gallery) is pleased to announce the opening of three separate exhibitions on June 14, 2024, BLINDSPOT by Nicole Chochrek, CEPA’s Artist in Residence, Off the Wall: Highlights from the CEPA Collection, and Positive Exposures: Faces of Change in Niagara Falls. We are pleased to announce that artist Walker Tufts has received a $10,000 Individual Artist Grant from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) to fund his upcoming project, Pickles & Concrete. The project will culminate in an exhibition at CEPA, which is set to open in August 2024. Pickles & Concrete is part of the ongoing project, Dirtball, by Kosmologym, an international art and game design collective made up of Walker Tufts, Greg Stewart, and Jo Dalsgaard.

CEPA is excited to announce the hiring of three new fellows, made possible by the generous patronage of the Fujifilm Foundation for Creation Fellowship Program: Sofia Inigo-Payne, Kristina Ebert, and Kenneth P. Budziszewski. This is CEPA’s third year in collaboration with Fujifilm for the Foundation for Creation Fellowship Program. Here are the fellows!

Please join us Friday, August 4th, 2023 from 5-8 PM at CEPA Gallery for the closing of Resilience: A Buffalo Story by Mustafa Hussain. As Buffalo continues to rebuild and grow after the events of the past three years, artist Mustafa Hussain explores the effects of these events on our community in his thought-provoking exhibition, which also includes the work of photographers, Joshua Thermidor, Malik Rainey, Brandon Watson, and Jalen Wright. 

Please join us June 9th, 2023 from 5-8 PM in the Underground Gallery for the premiere of NTY.studio’s newest installation, Life at the Chasm. Led by Creative Director Rafael Bicalho and Producer Kristian Bouw, the exhibition continues NTY.studio's tradition of exploring rich sensory and visual narratives through film and experimental media.
