Here are the next three dates for Open Facilities Night at CEPA! Mark your calendars for March 21st, April 18th, and May 23rd! Open Facilities Night invites members of the Buffalo community to come together, collaborate, and create—free of charge—using CEPA's facilities.
The Center for Exploratory & Perceptual Arts (CEPA Gallery) is pleased to announce the opening of an exhibition in collaboration with photographic artist and doctoral researcher Alice Cazenave, FORAGE: A Sustainable Photography Exhibition. Please join us for the opening reception on June 7, 2024, from 5 - 8 PM in The Cass Gallery at 500 Seneca.
In May, 2019, we held two pilot sessions of “Capturing Buffalo,” opportunities designed by photographers for photographers. In addition to seeing and taking photographs of fascinating architecture, the 20 participants learned stories of the neighborhood’s history.
TEEN PHOTO, a series of free classes for teenagers from 13–18 years old, is a unique opportunity for young photographers come together to share their passion for photography. They’ll receive technical advice, constructive feedback on their photos, and get an opportunity to spend some time with other teens that share the same interest.
CAPTURING BUFFALO is an opportunity for photographers by photographers—enabling participants to learn, enjoy, and receive friendly feedback on images. This opportunity involves learning about one of Buffalo’s iconic neighborhoods, and spending time capturing its details and character.
CEPA Gallery and the Veterans One-Stop Center of WNY are proud to co-present the Odyssey Workshops, a free 12-week intensive photography course for post 9/11 combat veterans beginning in January 2019. Through photography and writing, veterans will explore the return home in the workshop from their perspective.
National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $2 million in Creativity Connects grants as part of the NEA’s second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2018. Included in this announcement is a grant of $59K to CEPA Gallery for the Odyssey Workshops.
In this unique workshop, participants will be introduced to the camera-based Xerox flat plate process, learn about its history, and gain hands-on experience crafting carbon based photographic images. Last chance to take this special workshop with electrophotography artist Tom Carpenter on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
