A Photography Class for Ages 16+

In this course participants will learn how to develop their own black & white film in a traditional darkroom. The negatives will be used to create contact sheets and test prints. The basics of darkroom printing will be introduced, including making photograms. In addition we will discuss different film, paper types,  and  alternative methods one can use to further experimentation. After this course students will be prepared to rent the CEPA darkroom individually. No previous darkroom knowledge is needed.

About the Teaching Artist

Jeannine Swallow is a Buffalo native and Photographic Artist. She is passionate about analogue photography and alternative processes. She received her Associates degree from Villa Maria College and later a BFA in Visual Studies, at the University of Buffalo. Owner and operator of FilmXposed, a local photography business specializing in creating contemporary and often surreal images; with a strong focus on multiple exposures. Swallow possess an avid love for travel and has exhibited both internationally and through out the Buffalo area.
