A 1-Day Photography Class for Ages 16+
Take your portraiture to the next level!
Learn to combine lighting, expression, posing, and use formal compositional elements to elevate your portraiture and imbue your images with meaning and intention. Students will have the opportunity to practice hands-on technique with a professional model.
By the end of the lab session, you’ll understand a conceptual approach to portraiture and have a repertoire of fun and creative techniques to experiment with.
Class is taught by one of CEPA’s veteran instructors – Peter Meszynski (see more about Peter below). Recommended for advanced students who are already familiar with studio lighting or have taken Piotr’s previous Studio Light Class. Purchase both classes and receive a 15% discount (will be refunded when your card is processed).

Meet the Teaching Artist
My name is Piotr (Peter) Meszynski. For the last 35 years, photography has been my calling, my passion, and the thing that will undoubtedly drive me insane someday. I don’t photograph subjects. I photograph the way they make me feel. Admittedly, it’s a bit of a strange concept. But it’s honest – and it’s the best way to describe my approach to the craft. I wrestle with every image I shoot. I assume perfection is possible and I want to wring it out of every picture.
I am fortunate to be able to spend a good amount of time on personal projects, traveling and collaborating with a team of great people. If that’s all you ever know about me, it’s enough to say you know me very, very well.

If you’re new to studio lighting, it is easy to get intimidated by the amount of stuff you have to learn. In this hands-on class, you’ll start to learn the complexities of controlling light in a controlled space. CEPA will provide studio space and equipment, introducing you to some of the most basic studio lighting equipment and terms you will need to navigate a photography studio.
A model will be on site for hands on experience working in a real studio setting.

· Understand depth of field and shooting groups.
· Use all sorts of flashes, including strobes and hot shoe flashes, as well as modifiers.

How to Photograph Your Art – Advanced

If you’re looking to take your artwork documentation skills to the next level, this advanced photography class can provide you with specialized knowledge and techniques. In this class you can expect to learn the following:
Advanced Camera Techniques: You will learn more camera techniques, such as using a tripod, polarizing filters, and multiple exposures, to create more complex and detailed images.
Advanced Lighting Techniques: You will learn advanced lighting techniques, such as using softboxes, reflectors, and diffusers to create more dramatic and professional lighting setups. You will also learn about color temperature and how to use it to enhance the colors in your artwork.
Workflow & Post-Processing: You will learn how to edit and adjust exposure, contrast, remove blemishes, and sharpen your images using Adobe Photoshop. These techniques can help you create flawless images of your artwork that accurately represent their colors and details.
