This class is jam packed with all sorts of fun photo activities, including darkroom, digital, and experimental photography. Cameras are available for use or students are welcome to use their own. For ages 8-12

Ages 13 to 17
Students will learn about B&W photography, shooting with film cameras and developing and printing their photos in the darkroom. They will participate in photographic walking tours of downtown Buffalo. An emphasis on black and white documentary style photography will be a highlight of this class. Students are welcome to bring their own film cameras if they have one, or will be provided with CEPA film cameras to borrow. For ages 13-17

Ages 13 to 17
Students will spend the week learning a number of different techniques inspired by the New Vision photography movement. New Vision was a photography movement that briefly existed between WWI and WWII, that despite being short lived, greatly shaped our viewpoint of photography, producing many of the pictorial conventions familiar to us today.
Techniques students will experiment with include 35mm Photography, Double Exposure, Photograms, Cliché Verre, and Collage.
Students are welcome to bring their own film cameras if they have one, or will be provided with CEPA film cameras to borrow. For ages 13-17

A Week-long Summer Class
July 31 – August 4 @ 9:00am–12:00pm
Ages 8 to 12
Together we will explore techniques for harnessing the sun to create botanical photographs, using the some of the earliest techniques to combine science and photography. We will begin with a guided field trip to collect plants and natural material, which will be used create artwork that is both from and made of Nature. The class introduces pinhole, cyanotype and other sun printing techniques, exploring the boundaries of alternative image creation. All materials included. For ages 8-12.
