I strive to create a picture rather than just take it and add my own perspective to it. Through photography I can discover what I see in the world and push my boundaries through new experiences. I love taking pictures where there is a lot of color and light, and I try to convey liveliness and life throughout my photography. A picture should evoke an emotion, and personally I feel that my pictures should bring someone joy or awe. The world around me inspires me especially when, because of photography, I start seeing everyday things in a new light. I don’t know when or where I’m going to be inspired, but usually I look for color first, or anything unusual. The elements of art that most interest me are color, line and form. Emphasis and variety are the principles of design I like to use the most. Every couple of years, my family goes to India to visit relatives, which is filled with life and color. Travelling has definitely further developed my love for photography, as a way to not only document life, but highlight my perspective of the world; to prove that what I imagine I can create. How I compose a picture in order to make art, and how I see things is unique. My personal philosophy would be to appreciate life and live in the moment, sometimes rather than capturing something on camera it is best to capture it with your mind. In the future, I think I would like to experiment more with film photography and portrait photography. My influences are nature, social media, my own culture, family and any photographer that sparks an emotion in the viewer. I especially admire the photographer Murad Ossman because of his use of color and dreamlike pictures that showcase beauty, fashion and wonders of the world. Photography is my perspective of the world: an art creation.
