NEW NOIR BY CODY LOMBARD
In a world where high-resolution digital photography is the norm, I choose to embrace the timeless beauty and simplicity of pinhole photography, using a device that has become a common part of modern life—the smartphone. This combination of old and new, analog and digital is the heart of my artistic journey. My work transcends the limitations of traditional pinhole photography by marrying the craft’s historical roots with the convenience and accessibility of modern technology.
Pinhole photography, with its simple and almost mystical origins, is the perfect embodiment of my artistic vision. This technique goes back to the very essence of photography, stripping away complex mechanics and modern conveniences to reveal the core magic of capturing light. It is an art form that honors the foundation of photography while embracing the power of the digital age.
Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Cody Lombard discovered their passion for photography at a young age, drawn to the magic of freezing moments in time and capturing unforgettable moments. With experience in both DSLR and SLR 35mm cameras, their lens explores diverse subjects from urban landscapes and portraiture to mesmerizing travel shots. Currently being educated in photography at Buffalo State University, Cody Lombard is willing to experiment and learn new techniques with the camera, with lighting, and with different subject matters. As they continue to evolve and expand their creative horizons, Cody Lombard is poised to make a lasting mark on the world of photography.
