Anja Honisett: Between Days
“My medium-large scale figurative oil paintings have evolved through my art-historical research on the notion of women as “vessels” – carriers of life, conduits of the past, and as scions of the primordial. The use of symbolism in painting, iconography, color, and the history of color mixing are additional areas of research informing my work. This series of experimental, self-portrait paintings reference interior and exterior landscapes, the unconscious and memory.”
