Open Facilities Night invites members of the Buffalo community to come together, collaborate, and create—free of charge—using CEPA’s facilities.
Here is everything you need to know:
•Open Facilities Night is from 6:30-9:00PM at CEPA Gallery (617 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14203). When you arrive, please enter through the Main Street entrance. If you arrive after open gallery hours (after 7:00PM), please call us at (716) 856-2717. We will stop letting guests in at 8:00PM.
• Participants will be able to work in the darkroom. Chemistry is provided, but please bring your own paper! (If you need paper, we will provide it to you for a $20 lab fee, or you can sign up for a membership.) It is preferred that those in attendance have some basic darkroom knowledge already. For those new to the darkroom, please keep an eye out for our future darkroom classes or set up an appointment for a one-on-one tutorial on our website.
• Collaging and zine-making will take place in the classroom area. If you have anything you can donate (magazines, stickers, craft paper, small doodads), please feel free to bring it! Otherwise, materials will be provided.
• Participants will be able to work in our computer lab to scan film and work in the Adobe Suite. However, we are unable to accommodate digital printing until further notice.
• While the majority of Open Facilities Night will be taking place in the classroom areas and darkroom, people are welcome to work in the lighting studio if they have experience with lighting equipment.
