Tapestry Students @ CEPA

Tapestry High School and CEPA Gallery have a long history of collaboration and we were thrilled that eight talented students completed a three-day intensive learning here at CEPA in April 2015. The Tapestry visit was jam-packed with all things photography—pinhole photography, photograms, digital photography, Photoshop, strobe lighting, green screen and more! See some of the amazing work they created below.

CEPA Gallery is a recipient of the National Arts & Humanities Youth Program Award and offers a range of exciting programs, classes, workshops, and summer camps for every skill level for both youth and adults.
If you’re interested in bringing arts education to the students in your school or planning an on-site program at CEPA Gallery, please contact lauren@cepagallery.org or 716-856-2717. Together, we can put together a customized arts education program that suits the needs of your students, budget and curriculum.

Students chose a background photo with the idea that they would superimpose a photo of themselves onto the background using Photoshop. They were photographed against a green screen in a pose conducive to the scene they chose
Using digital cameras, students learned the elements of photography and then found and photographed them throughout the building
Using digital SLR cameras, students used long time exposures during which they used flashlights, glow sticks or any light source to literally write or draw shapes, creating unique and striking images of moving color and light
