The Art of Sport: A new Festival-style Format.

Art of Sport was a tremendously well received exhibition and a great example of a new “festival style” exhibition format we will be employing more in the future. The exhibition brought together an international group of 12 artists whose work explores the intersection of art and contemporary sport. In addition to the main exhibition at CEPA Gallery there were satellite projects, performances, film screenings, and lectures. The peripheral programming expanded upon the exhibition, and offered insight into the artists’ practice while providing multiple points of engagement.

Opening Friday, September 20 on Curtain Up! and running through November 23, 2014, Art of Sport showcased the work of Catherine Opie, Paul Pfeiffer, Daria Martin, Anne Hardy, Hans van der Meer, Lee Walton, Matthew Bakkom, Vesna Pavlovic, Mitch Miller, Craig Smith, Bradley Beesley and Harold Edgerton. The exhibition was curated by Craig Smith.
