Experimental sound and performance duo by Siti Bauw
With generous financial support from the Dutch Consulate, CEPA Gallery is pleased to present a special performance by experimental sound and performance duo Siti Bauw at Big Orbit Project Space on Friday JANUARY 8, 2016 from 8-11pm.
Siti Bauw is an Amsterdam based music and poetry performance duo formed by Nana Zoë Jovanovic and Roberta Petzoldt. This event, in conjunction with Liz Lessner’s exhibition APPETITES/ANXIETIES, will feature a live performance in dialogue with Lessner’s work, currently on view at Big Orbit Project Space. Known for their mesmerizing, almost otherworldly performance, Siti Bauw will create a responsive soundtrack reflective of both the site and the work contained within it.
Their soundscapes are inspired by landscape, the supernatural, and the collective histories of mankind. Whether it be the sound of river, the howling of a forgotten dog, the echo-ing of a great big hall, the chatter of chickens, Siti Bauw uses the oft overlooked moments of harmony and beauty as fodder in the search for the sublime.
