Continents Under Pressure combines dance, live music and traditional theater. Staged in a surrealistic setting that is both playground and battlefield, the actors, dancers, singers and musicians explore and lament latent issues within each of us that perpetuate our need to bicker and destroy. This performance features the talents of seasoned performers David Kane (composer), Amy Taravella (dancer and choreographer), and David Butler (set designer, writer, actor). A Picture’s Worth - A Thousand Words: Teen Tour and Literary Activity Wednesday, August 4, 5:30-7:30 pm CEPA Gallery at the Market Arcade, 617 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14203 Teenagers on summer vacation can engage with art and writing and expand their visual literacy outside of the classroom with this free program at CEPA Gallery. The program begins with a guided tour of the Art of War exhibition, led by CEPA’s Interim Executive Director and Curator Sean Donaher. Following the tour, students will create literary responses to the work on view, led by Robin Brox, a Writer-in-Residence with Just Buffalo Literary Center. After looking at a few poems about war, Brox will have students create their own literary responses to the artwork presented in Art of War. For students 13 and up. Free admission.
